"...anyone can join in!"
In addition to producing our regular Theatresports® shows in the Blue Mountains, Theatresports® Blue Mountains works in conjunction with Impro Australia to offer workshops and performances in improvisation and Theatresports®.
These take two forms:
- One-off workshops; a high-energy class where everyone develops the basic tools for successful improvisation
- 6-class series; detailed workshops in which students build their performance skills and improvisation abilities, culminating in a show
Participating in a Theatresports® workshops will give your students the opportunity to further develop their communication and social interaction skills and assist them in building confidence and self esteem, in addition to the obvious stagecraft / performance skills. These workshops are a valuable extension to class-work.
Theatresports® Schools ChallengeImpro Australia also runs the Theatresports® Schools Challenge each year where students in years nine to 12 form teams to represent their school and take part with other schools from across NSW. See the Impro Australia website at www.improaustralia.com.au for more information. If you are looking for a workshop involving Theatresports® or a licence for your students to perform Theatresports® at your school, you can request information via this form.

Our Artistic Director, Bryan Cutts, as well as our other impro tutors are experienced practitioners, and all those who work with minors possess a Working with Children certificate issued by the NSW Commission for Children and Young People.
Classes can be run in-school hours or after formal classes, depending on your school’s and the communities needs.
“…students asked if we could repeat some of the activities in class following the workshop.”
